Belgrade with the best
My trip to Belgrade was a very spontaneous one and i was so glad i was getting the chance to reunite with old friends and meet new ones. I took the bus to Belgrade overnight from Podgorica in Montenegro which took about 10 hrs and wasn't the most comfortable of journeys. When i arrived tired and looking like crap, i was greeted by that big familiar smiling face and a big hug which warmed my heart and made me instantly forget about my journey from hell ... i was so excited to see Gordana and meet her lovely parents and friends. i was also so keen to get an insight into the history of Serbia, something so interesting to me.
Over the next few days in Belgrade i was treated like a part of the family and even got to practice my serbian with gordanas parents who loved mocking the way i said words haha. I met Gordanas friends and work mates, we went to the cinema, hung out drinking wine and cheese at home and even went to explore the river and beautiful forrest close to her home. When Gordana was working i took the opportunity to explore the city and managed to walk incredible distances in search of museums. i went to almost all of them including my favourites The Tesla museum and The Museum of Yugoslavia. If you like history, the ex Yugo countries have one of the most fascinating.
Belgrade was amazing and it was the most amazing local experience to have had with the nicest and most welcoming of people. My next stop was to Novi Sad, my second and final stop on Serbia before i go to Bosnia and Herzagovina

Arrving to my hostel in Novi Sad via taxi thanks to Gordanas dad who arranged foe me to get there in style, i was greeted with a smily owner and a shot of famous rakiya.....in the morning! I settled into my room where i met Josh from NZ travelling through as well. He invited me to the local walking tour which we ended up doing that evening. it was incredible, the history continued.
We hung out and had some craft beers and dinner that night and the next day Josh left. Considering we were travelling the same route, we figured it was inevitable to meet again in Bosnia. Novi Sad is a very cute and picturesque University town with lots to offer and on my last day i walked every corner of it, as i do, ending up at the beautiful fortress.
The next day i was due to leave early on a day bus to Sarajevo and ironically, the guy from my room Anthony was on the same bus. We headed to the bus station that morning and having booked the same accomodation too, we planned to travel together there and explore. The next stop was much anticipated, i was nervous because of Bosnia's history but i soon realised i should'nt have been, instead i would come to fall in love with this city- scars and all.
